At the heart of the cloud lies an old satellite, Voyager 6, that was launched from Earth a number of years ago. It's purpose was to collect as much information as possible and report back to its creator. NASA lost contact with the satellite and it amassed so much information that it became sentient. Years later in the 24th century, the ship housing the satellite (don't ask me why it has a ship) came back to Earth and is attempting to send the information back to its creator at NASA using radio waves. Unfortunately, there's no one on Earth who would be able to understand that signal and relay the message etc etc. So the sentient satellite grows impatient with Earth and threatens to destroy it. It thinks its creator must be a machine and humans are an infestation trying to prevent contact etc etc.
Its kinda drawn out and one of the most boring Star Trek movies to date (its also the first Star Trek movie) but it paved the way for the really good ones, Wrath of Kahn etc.
Sure! I remember now! I remember the moment Captain Kirk remove the dust on the main panel of the center of that strange "spaceship" and then he can read Voyager instead of Voyer. Hey I liked that movie...but well I was like 10 year old and we had only 3 channels in my country those days so yeah, it was a great "saturday night" movie for me I guess.
So. Are you a trekkie or something? Btw nice "quick synopsis" Hahaha
I'm not a hardcore Trekkie as much as I'm a hard core designer. I've been to two conventions mainly for merchandise and I saw Sulu one time. I do enjoy the movies though and am really looking forward to the new one!
Sorry who is Sulu? ...well as you can see I´m not a trekkie or something like that but apart from those sci-fi "icons" (strak strek, star wars, star whatever) I´m a huge fan of sci-fi movies. Check this, it is the next movie from James Cameron, don´t know if you heard about it before, but man, looks really good...
Howard Stern! I think I saw a movie from this guy. I always remember his name because a closet friend of mine is exactly like this guy, I mean physically, we had a great time watching this movie haha
Yeah, avatar looks really promising. Btw, don´t know if your heard about "Alita". It is a Japanese comic with some OVA´s and great background and story. Quite popular in japan. Post-apocalyptic stuff and such, well, this guy, James Cameron is making the film too. It looks like 2009 will be a great year for sci-fi lovers. Great!
